She gave you a CD. “For Quinn, so you will remember.” As you give the CD a listen, shivers trickle down your spine and the hairs stand at alert on your arms as you hear her voice.
“Hi baby. I’ve been working on this with Artie after glee practices. I hope you like it. I love you, Quinn.”
You shake and you cry, tears glistened as they slid down your cheeks and the fingers that cover your mouth to prevent you from sobbing out loud. You hear nothing but her voice. It fills you and you only cry more. She laughs and she says things that only the two of you would know in her gentle, angelic voice.
And last but not least, she sings. Rachel pours her soul out into these last songs, songs that you love and songs that you couldn’t care less what it’s about because it’s Rachel singing and you never want it to stop.
You’re sitting on the floor when Rachel herself comes in and picks you up hugging you by the waist, and you’re sobbing the life out of you as Rachel sings that final song…
Oh girl, you stand by me…I’m forever yours, faithfully…
“Don’t ever forget that.”
