“Quinn, why are you reading that book?” Rachel could not hide her confusion as her girlfriend made her way through the halls with her nose in the book.
The blonde looked up, startled, and shrugged. “Oh, I haven’t… officially made a decision yet. Regarding the baby, I mean. And obviously if I decide to keep her, money will be an issue. I’m just covering all the bases, Rach.”
Rachel nodded understandingly. “Of course. Please keep my family’s offer in mind. We would be overjoyed to help you. My fathers’ always wanted another child but I was too demanding for them to devote their attention elsewhere—”
“I am shocked,” Quinn whispered and could only grin when Rachel looked mock hurt.
“—Wait. Did you say ‘she’?” Rachel stopped in the middle of the hallway, one hand over her mouth and the other on Quinn’s arm. “It’s a girl?”
Quinn smiled, Rachel’s enthusiasm taking her by surprise. “I just found out a few days ago. It’s a girl.”
Rachel jumped up and down a few times before remembering where they were and quickly stilled. “I mean, I’m thrilled,” she said with a gravely serious expression.
Quinn had to laugh as she hugged Rachel in the middle of the hallway, not caring at all who saw them.
